The Mogilev region is located in the centre of the east part of Belarus adjoining in the the east with Russia. The ramified railways network and the highways connecting the region with Russia, Ukraine, Baltic runs through this territory. On this territory pass four major a trunk-railway. The large rivers (the Dnieper, Berezina and Sozh) are used for navigation. The largest cities are Mogilev, Mstislavl, Shklov. Mogilev is the regional centre. It is city with a rich history which remembers many titled persons. The townsmen met Russian tsar Peter I came on the Dnieper in 1706; the Russian empress Ekaterina II and the Austrian emperor Joseph II met here in May of 1780; the great poet Pushkin twice was here. The Rate of supreme Commander in chief of Russian army was in 1915 - 1918, and in August 1915 the Russian emperor Nikolay II has arrived here.

Mstislavl - the city known since 1156, in which vicinities the rests of monasteries XIV were kept. The names of Belorussians of which descendants proud are connected to it: P.T.Mstislavets - the printer, the founder, together with Ivan Fedorov, the first printing house in Moscow; N. Sudilovsky - the former president of the Hawaiian islands, borned in v. Phustovo under Mstislavl; the Belorussian poet M.Goretsky, the museum to which was opened in Small Bahatjcovca.

Minsk region is situated in the centre of the Republic of Belarus and has 22 areas. The centre of the region is Minsk – the capital of Belarus. The relief of the region is various: heights alternate with plains and lowlands. Forests occupy 36% of the territory, bogs – 14%. Natural places of interest of Minsk region are the largest lake of the republic – the Naroch which charms with its beauty and wildlife preserve “the Blue Lakes”. One of the oldest Pushcha “Nalibokskaya” is situated in Minsk region which occupies the main part of Berezinski biosphere reserve in the northeast, where the preservation of typical and unique natural-landscape complexes is carried out.

Minsk – the capital of the Republic of Belarus – is a modern compact European city with rather good ecological situation today. The corners of the old city were saved there.

Ancient Zaslavl with state historical and cultural reserve is situated in this region. The region is also famous for Nesvizh with its outstanding Nesvizh Castle, Farn catholic church with the burial-vault of the princes Radzivily, the printing-house with the monument to Symon Budny and other attractions. Borisov acquaints us with the events of 1812 – through the Berezina passed a famousferry of Napoleon’s army. The ethnographic complex "Dudutki" lures many tourists. Minsk region is the homeland of national literary classic authors such as Yanka Kupala (Yanka Kupala’s memorial complex in Vyazynka), Yakub Kolas, Maxim Bogdanovich.

The Grodno region is located in the northwest of Belarus, borders in the west with Poland and in the north with Lithuania. Through territory of the region passes one of important highways of Eurasia, that promotes wide international cooperation.

The largest cities are Grodno, Lida, Slonim, Volkovysk, Smorgon, Novogroudok. The last is the centre of origin of the Belorussian statehood here in XII-XIII cc. There was the Great Lithuanian Principality where the Belorussian grounds have come. Grodno is one of the most beautiful belarussian cities in which many history-architectural monuments were saved: the castle of XIII-XVI cc., the Boris and Gleb church of XII c, the catholic church of Jesuites, the catholic church of Bernardines of XVI-XVIII cc. and many other sights giving constant charm to the city.

Cards of the region are restored and updated castles at Novogroudok and Lida, the church-fortress in v. Synkovichy of XV c, the Zhyrovitchy orthodox monastery of XVII - XIX cc. The complex in which there is the wonder-working icon of Zhyrovitchy Mother Divine is one of the most important objects of pilgrimage and tourism not only in the region, but also in the republic.

The Gomel region is located in the southeast of Belarus adjoining in the east with Russia and in the south with Ukraine. Through its territory pass railway transport highways of republican and interstate value. Large railway junctions are Gomel, Zhlobin, Kalincovichy.

Gomel is located on crossing of railways Bahmach-Vilnius, Bryansk - Brest. The railroad lines to Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kiev, Minsk, Brest depart from the city. Through Gomel passes the transport eurocorridor. The city is connected by airlines to Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Kiev and many other cities of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus. Navigation is carried out over Pripyat, Dnieper and Berezina. The Gomel university, various institutes, theatres, regional theatre of dolls, the region museum, the planetarium functions here. The palace-park ensemble, the St. Peter and Paul church of the XVIII c and the other historical monuments were saved in the city.

On territory of the region is located the National Park Prityatski where practically in a protogenic condition unique landscapes of the Belarussian Polesye were saved. Besides the Polesye radiation-ecological reserve functions here. The purpose of its creation became preservation in a natural condition of the natural complexes with their unique landscape structure, undergone to influence of radioactive pollution after Chernobyl accident, and also complex studying and radiobiological monitoring.

The Vitebsk region is located in the northeast of the country and borders with Lithuania, Latvia and Russia. Two international trans-European corridors (Paris - Moscow, Helsinki - Vitebsk-Gomel-Kiev-Plovdiv) pass through its territory. The largest cities are Vitebsk, Orsha, Polotsk, Novopolotsk.

The nature has generously presented with woods (32 % of the territory), a freakish mosaic of lakes, the deep rivers (more than 600). Pride Vitebsk land are national parks of Braslav Lakes and Berezinsky forest reserve. These are unique on beauty and not having analogues in Europe reserves. There is a number of reserves republican value, is protected more than 40 nature sanctuaries in the territory of the region. A perfect environment enable to develop foot, water, bicycle, ecological tourism.

On the Vitebsk land the most ancient cities of Belarus Polotsk (861), Vitebsk (974), Orsha are located. More than 30 state museums and 16 branches are visited to tourists, 42 palace-park manors are under protection of the state here. The numerous monuments of a history and culture of slavs were saved in ancient Polotsk. The life and creativity of known educators and art workers are connected with Vitebsk land: Ephrasinia Polotskaya, Symeon Polotsky, Frantsysk Skaryna, the artists Mark Shagal, Ilya Repin, Ieguda Pen and Kazimir Malievitch, the writers Ioann Bunin, Yanka Koupala, Vasiliy Bykov, Vladimir Korotkevich. It annually are spent about 20 large festivals and holidays which receive visitors from many countries of the world in the region.

The Brest region is located in the southwest of the republic adjoining in the west with Poland and in the south with Ukraine. It causes its favourable economic-geographical position. The transit corridor Berlin - Warshawa - Brest - Minsk - Moskow, the direct way to Vilnius and Kiev, the ramified network of railways allow to transport quickly. Brest has the international all-weather airport of 1-st category with the runway in length of 2600 m.

There is the state national park Belovezha Forest Reserve with rich flora and fauna, opening to visit in this territory. Scientific researches to preserve the unique natural complex typical for Belarus and Europe are spent here. Brest, Pinsk, Baranovichi are the basic centres of tourism in the region. It was saved more than two thousand monuments of a history, culture and architecture on territory of the territory.

The pearl of the Polesye is Pinsk, with well saved historical building, the catholic church and the Franciscans monastery, the Jesuit colegium of XVII c. The original culture of Polesye was saved also. In many nooks it till now prosper potter's (Prouzhany), straw handcrafts (Astrametcheva) and weaving (Motol, Bezdezh). Many places are connected to names of oustanding Belorussians - the poet Adam Mitskevich, the artist Napoleon Orda, the national hero of Belarus, Poland, USA, the honourable citizen of France Tadeush Kostushko, the scientist Ignatiy Domejko and many others.

Minsk was founded on the right bank of the Svisloch more than 900 years ago. The name of the city is associated with the Menka that flowed into the Ptych which is not far from the city. But the legend says that there was Minsk or epic bogatyr Menesk who gave the name to modern Minsk. In one more interpretation the name “Minsk” derives from the word “mena” as in ancient times there was a barter place – a trade market. That is why at the beginning this city was called Mensk, Menjsk and then Minsk.

Modern Minsk is a big industrial and cultural centre of the republic, it is an important road junction. Its population is about 2 million. There are the Academy of Sciences of Belarus, 14 institutions of higher education, 10 museums, 10 showrooms where one can find exhibits which tell about history of belarussian people, treasures of culture and art, materials of life and work of outstanding people.
